At the end of the day, the crowded souvenir shops along Nakamise Shopping Street close their shutters, revealing a 380-meter-long row of murals. Known as the Asakusa Emaki picture scrolls, these lit-up murals depict traditional events such as the Sanja Matsuri and scenes from ukiyo-e.
