A historically significant fireworks festival that attracts nearly one million people each year. The highlight is the fireworks competition, where local pyrotechnic companies with ties to Ryogoku compete with the top companies in Japan.

- Around 20,000 fireworks are launched during this festival, one of the largest in Japan. It is also the oldest fireworks festival in Japan, dating back to the Ryogoku River Opening Ceremony. Fireworks are launched from two venues, and the sheer scale of the display is astounding.
